Shrimp Fra Diavolo

- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper flakes
- olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 14 1/2-ounce diced tomatoes
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 3 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 1 tablespoon parsley
- 1 tablespoon basil
- Toss the shrimp with 1 teaspoon of salt and red pepper flakes.
- Heat oil in a heavy large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Saute the shrimp until just cooked through.
- Transfer shrimp from the skillet.
- Add the onion to the same skillet, adding olive oil(if needed) and saute until translucent.
- Add the tomatoes with their juices, wine, garlic, and oregano.
- Simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Add shrimp back into the tomato mixture.
- Stir in the parsley and basil.
